pacifica redux

Originally designed by the Los Angeles based architecture firm of Palmer and Krisel, this home was modernized in the spirit of the era for a young professional couple.

Reorganizing the flow by removing a few non-structural walls, the house easily adapted for the new owners lifestyle. Since then, the clients have welcomed a daughter (who will undoubtedly grow up a modernist) and their house has performed flawlessly as a family home. We worked with the owners to save costs by renovating within the shell.

Interesting fact: The house can also be seen in Jake Gorst’s documentary of the life and career of William Krisel, Architect which is playing at architecture and film festivals nationwide.
